The Devil is "Cute"

My neighbors on 1 side are a husband and wife living on the 2nd story and the father and mother of the husband of the 2nd floor living on the 1st floor. So 2 families. 2 generations. I don't talk to them much (ok read that to be 'at all', well before a few days ago), (I do wave when I see them, then skitter into the house or car, I'm not really that friendly in person with people I don't know) but 2 weeks ago Niche got really, really sick. And when he was to come home, (he spent 3 days at the regular vet and 3 days at the ER vet/Specialty clinic where everyone and his brother looked at him and his case and scratched their heads, saying "That's one sick dog, but no idea why." It was just great, let me tell you) I walked over and rang the door bell on the 1st floor as I wanted to tell them that no one can figure out why Niche is sick and if it was catching I wanted them to be watchful as they have 2 older dogs and I didn't want anything bad to happen to their dogs. And I told this to the father.

So a few days after, I was out back in the fenced yard with all of the guys and the father comes over to ask how my dog was. And we have a little chat. And my dogs are being really, REALLY good and not barking at him or even paying him any mind or anything (thank god, have to keep up good neighbor relations and all, as by now they probably think I'm slightly off my rocker). And he says, "That black and white one is really cute." Yeah, Monty is, he's a little devil though.

Today, was out in the yard again with the guys (plus a few more belonging to a friend) and the son came to the fence to say hello and after a quick "They aren't all mine!!" frantic babble, we had a little conversation. Again my dogs were all SUPER good, no barking or paying him any mind. And he says, "That little black and white one is really cute." Yeah, Monty is, he's a little devil though. (why did I feel like it was deja-vu?)

Well, I have to admit, he IS cute and many days it is his saving grace. Like when I find him 1/2 in the fridge trying to steal something. Which is basically his only (knock on wood) transgression as of late. Though a really freaking annoying one! At least he sticks to things on the 'dog shelf' in the fridge. Probably because it's the lowest shelf there for most accessable to one at corgi height and 2 probably because it has stuff like RAW MEAT on it and all of the stuff on upper shelves is like vegetables or in containers since it's for human consumption only.
